On the initiative of a local philanthropist, this centre was
established in 2007 at Shikarpur, a small town in western Uttar
Pradesh (102 km from Delhi). The centre caters to the surrounding
population that lives below the poverty line.
Staff: Currently, the clinic has five doctors and eight support
staff.
Patient footfall: Around 300 patients
visit the clinic every day as there is no other affordable and
reliable medical facility in the adjoining area.
Expansion:
There are plans to acquire land so that a proper medical centre may be
built to cater to the acute need of Shikarpur and its adjoining
poverty-stricken areas.
